HK V2.1Altitude Hold with arduino and sonar/ping sensor

Yes i have to admit it: last time i tried to take off just with goggles, it crashed. 🙁
It was frustrating also for the poor #4 motor that lost all the small balls of the shaft bearing, consequently grinded within magnet and coils: corps everywhere. didn’t cry, yet.

Well after this occasion, i though it would be better to be assisted by something while i take off, just the time of putting on my goggles, or as i wonder activating some altitude holding mode while still on the floor, having to setup a fixed variable rapresenting the minimum altitude to be held in the arduino loop.

First of all: CONNECTION.
We want eventually to completely hijack the signal coming from the rx receiver that should go on the throttle input channel on our flight controller. so at the end we will have

RX CHAN3 -> Arduino -> Flight controller throttle input channel

we need an auxiliary channel in order to tell arduino when to start taking over on the throttle channel, so we need at least 5 channels, better 6.

Arduino will be powered up by the 5V current coming from the receiver.
